CSAAC’s Community School of Maryland (CSM) strives to provide students with job and community living skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. The goal is to enable the students the ability to provide a positive impact in their communities. As example, Kurt, Jacob, and Nick are three CSM students that have been doing volunteer work for Meals on Wheels over the past 3 years. Their assignment is food delivery for the residents of the Leisure World community in Silver Spring. Each week the students’ job is to pick up the food, load the vehicle and proceed on their delivery route to all the customer locations. This process has taught them valuable job and communication skills. It also benefits the customers who enjoy socializing with our magnificent students each week. Kurt, Jacob and Nick will be graduating from Community School of Maryland in June. Congratulations to them! Stay tuned for more interesting reports from CSAAC’s Community School of Maryland.
