It’s important for special education students in non-public schools to be able to interact with their typical peers in the public school system. The Community School of Maryland is proud to announce the development of a great opportunity for CSM students to have a pen pal in a local high school through the Best Buddies program. Students have regular opportunities to have a dialog with their pen pals who attend Sherwood High School. This opportunity not only offers peer interaction, but also helps CSM students to develop social skills and provides a real life scenario in which to practice typing and to learn how to utilize a computer and email. Some CSM students will participate in a musical performance on Saturday May 7th at the Best Buddies Friendship Walk in College Park, MD. Please come by to enjoy the walk and great music!
